So, there's this thing called Race for Life where you can walk/jog/run and raise money for cancer research, and only women are allowed to enter into it.

So I decided to.

I'm not running it, because I'd collapse. But I am walking the longer 10k version. Signed up not long back and have a Just Giving sponsorship page set up via the Race for Life people which is HERE.

I can't do anything to help out in Libya, I have no power to do anything other than try and talk about it with people IRL but this I can do something practical about.

So, remember that Purple Dove project, the one I've mentioned earlier and so on so forth?
Well, bidding is now open! Which means you can go forth and bid or buy stuff you fancy, and when I say buy I mean donate to LGBT charities. There is a ton of great stuff for offer and I'd recommend going over and having a look through, and getting your friends to do the same. The link for the comm as a group is HERE.

My stuff is HERE and HERE, and as I say I only have the 'buy it now' prices down but that's cause I'm willing to do stuff for multiple people in any case. I'm pretty good on photoshop, lol.

C'mon guys, one I have spare time to do this in. Two there's a ton of great stuff others are offering. Three it's charity - and we know from help_haiti  that these things can raise tons if fandom really embraces it.

Basically what’s going on is they’re taking suggestions of charities and checking them out (they’re also willing to listen and blacklist ones like the HRC for being transphobic if you know of one like that). Also people are offering up things like stories, art, graphics, crafts and so on that’ll go up for auction or flat out sale with people donating to one of the charities, and then getting the work.

So, anybody who has something to offer. Anything at all. Go over there and offer it. And then when buying starts up bid for stuff, buy stuff and help raise money. Spread the word far and wide cause this could be pretty good. help_haiti  raised a ton of money from fandom early this year and worked on the same model as this.
